 Eyelid Lift

 

Indications: 

*Excess lower eyelid skin and/or excessive upper eyelid skin that may or may not interfere with vision.

*Loss of natural eyelid crease

*Puffy pouches of fat in the upper and/or lower eyelids that create a tired looking or 'hung over' appearances.

 


Procedure Description:

*The procedure is performed on an outpatient bases under general anesthesia.

*The incisions are made where the natural crease should be in the upper lids and either inside the lower lid or below the lash line in the lower lid. Excess fat and skin are removed.



Additional Procedures Which Enhances the Result:

*Brow lift 

*Facelift


Recuperative and Healing:


*The patient goes home with sutures which will be removed within a week.

*Initial discomfort is easily controlled with mild medication.

*Sensitivity to light, and bruising last at least a week. Most swelling progressively disappears over one to two weeks.

*Eye makeup can be used after sutures are removed; contact lenses after several weeks.



Intended Result:


*A more youthful, rested appearance to the eyes

*Alleviation of the eyelid interference with sight


Insurance Guidelines:


*Since the procedure is considered reconstructive this procedure is not covered by insurance.
